Elle se heurte \u00e0 un refus du syndicat de copropri\u00e9t\u00e9 qui invoque que les modifications seraient trop co\u00fbteuses. Madame Castonguay se voit donc dans l\u2019obligation de vendre son condo.\u00a0Les difficult\u00e9s v\u00e9cues par cette dame illustrent la carence du cadre b\u00e2ti au Qu\u00e9bec en mati\u00e8re d\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 universelle.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Droits des copropri\u00e9taires<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En vertu de la Charte des droits de la personne, les copropri\u00e9t\u00e9s sont tenues d\u2019accommoder les r\u00e9sidents souffrant de limitations physiques. Ainsi, des mesures d\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 universelle peuvent \u00eatre int\u00e9gr\u00e9es dans le concept g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d\u2019un b\u00e2timent, sans pour autant nuire \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 ou l\u2019esth\u00e9tisme de celui-ci. De plus, si l\u2019accessibilit\u00e9 est prise en compte d\u00e8s le d\u00e9but de la conception, on \u00e9vitera des modifications ult\u00e9rieures qui risqueraient de ne pas s&rsquo;arrimer esth\u00e9tiquement avec le b\u00e2timent existant. Cela aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 le cas dans la copropri\u00e9t\u00e9 o\u00f9 r\u00e9sidait Mme Castonguay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parmi les strat\u00e9gies recommand\u00e9es par l\u2019organisme, une entr\u00e9e de plain-pied pourrait \u00eatre pr\u00e9conis\u00e9e plut\u00f4t qu\u2019une rampe d\u2019acc\u00e8s. On devrait aussi favoriser les espaces de circulation larges. Il est aussi recommand\u00e9 de minimiser les divisions franches entre les espaces.
